About the Blogger

Greetings from Rockwell Hall.  My name is Maureen Coyle, one of the 26 students that make up the Duquesne University MBA, Sustainability Class of 2012.  Additionally, I am a Graduate Assistant, focusing on social media for the program.  A little bit about me:

Background:I am originally from Marlton, New Jersey.  I completed my undergraduate in Political Science at the University of Rhode Island.  After graduating, I spent a year living in Boston working for a nonprofit that certifies restaurants/cafeterias for environmental efficiency and sustainability.  I then spent a year in the Philadelphia area working for an energy management firm dealing with deregulated electric markets and commodity procurement.
Why I Chose Duquesne:I wanted a University with a strong /cutting edge sustainability program that also carries a strong name for its MBA Program. Upon learning about Duquesne’s SMBA program, I realized it was the perfect fit.  The one year accelerated format and international experiences were two additional draws that led me to Duquesne.

Career Interests: Energy Deregulation, Energy Efficiency, Corporate Sustainability Strategies, Social Media and Marketing

Personal:  I am an avid reader with a love for travel and sports.  I spent a semester abroad in Galway, Ireland and have traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States.
