Student Spotlight – Craig McCloud

Background: Prior to Duquesne, Craig spent more than eight years in B2B sales in the Pittsburgh area, most of which were in the commercial printing and graphics industry. This helped him discover both an interest and aptitude in marketing.  Prior to his sales role, Craig worked in film and video production.  He also worked as a youth counselor for teenagers.

Why He Chose Duquesne: Craig says he stumbled upon the program almost by accident.  The more he learned about the integration of sustainability into the business curriculum, the more committed he became to making it a reality. “The rigors of the program continue to challenge me to my core. But if ROI can be measured in personal development, it’s already a net gain!”

Career Interests/Goals: Craig aims to use his management skills and abilities for a role in Public Affairs, Marketing, and/or Business Development. Ultimately, he wants to build, or be part of building, a successful company.

Personal: Craig enjoys music, being outdoors, and thoughtfully prepared food & drink – which he states are always complimented well by family and friends. Hobbies include: Disc Golf, Hunting & Fishing, Hiking & Backpacking, Skiing & Snowboarding, and attending concerts of his favorite music.

New Favorite Quote: “The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he’s always doing both. ” – L.P. Jacks (Sometimes attributed to James A. Michener)
