Last week, our Net Impact chapter was invited to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium’s myActions.org kick-off event. Our Net Impact members had the opportunity to present at the kick-off since our mission aligns with myActions. Now I’m sure you are asking what is myActions.org?
Well myActions.org is “The Social Network for the Planet”. The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium will be competing with other zoos in the Ohio Valley region to enact one million actions for planet earth my earth day. Our Net Impact chapter is partnering with the Zoo and others to help generate these one million actions.
The social network is available on desktops or mobile applications. myActions.org allows users to share personal actions digitally that amplifies the real world impact; however, it doesn’t just stop there! The platform allows users to raise money for organizations or causes through their earth friendly actions.
Want to get involved? Go to the Pittsburgh Zoo Go Green Campaign at myActions.org/Pittsburgh. Then choose a cause, create an account and start sharing your actions. The online challenge will begin January 27 and end February 19. Each action shared will earn your team points, virtual collector cards, and myActions will make a donation to Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.
The Pittsburgh Zoo’s teams include: Red Panda Rangers – funds benefitting the Red Panda Network; Alaskan Rescuer – funds benefitting the Alaska SeaLife Center; Keepers Gone Batty – funds benefitting the Bat Conservation International; Bring Bach the Monarchs – funds benefitting Monarch Watch; and Spots & Speed – funds benefitting the Endangered Wildlife Trust Livestock Guardian Dogs Project. Choose wisely!
